VFW Post 4662 offers many thanks

The Warwick Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4662 would like to extend our sincere thanks to all those who made the Veterans Day parade possible.

Each year the events are supported by the Village and Town of Warwick, including Mayor Michael Newhard, Supervisor Michael Sweeton, the Warwick Fire Department, the Police Department and Ambulance Corps. Without their assistance the parade would not be possible.

Many thanks are also extended to the ShopRite organization for providing the food and beverages for our barbecue. ShopRite’s generosity and support for veterans seems to have no bounds and is greatly appreciated. Thanks must also go out to Craig Wadeson of Wadeson Home Center and Jack Pennings Jr. of Pennings Orchard for providing the coordination and driving of the float so that veterans who are unable to march are nevertheless able to participate in the parade.

Many thanks to our brother veterans of Warwick American Legion Post 214 for marching with us and for providing an additional color guard to honor our flag. Our thanks also to the Polish Legion of American Veterans for attending our parade and for their continued support. And once again the Meister singers from Warwick Valley High School, under the direction of Noreen Hanson, provided a performance of our national anthem that is unmatched in the county. Thank you so much for your contribution to our Memorial Park Ceremony.

And a special thank you to Eileen Sciscoe for her tireless help and support to our post at this event and at all our events throughout the year. Thanks also to the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies and the Little League for attending the parade. In addition to our mission of providing assistance to veterans, our post members encourage the youth of our community to engage with veterans to increase their understanding of the sacrifice, commitment and dedication to liberty that is necessary to protect our way of life and our country.

And certainly our thanks go out to the Warwick community, which every year and throughout the year provides the support and recognition to our veterans for their contribution to our country. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Members of Post 4662 wish everyone a happy holiday season and a happy and prosperous new year!
