Greenwood Lake gearing up

The Village of Greenwood Lake is preparing for the annual influx of vacationers eager to enjoy the benefits of Orange County’s largest fresh water lake with boating, fishing, and a growing variety of water sports..
The village police department will present a Boaters’ Safety Course on June 10 and 11 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Greenwood Lake Courthouse. A license is required for everyone operating a boat this year. Children 10 to 18 may operate a boat with a license without paying a fee. Adults must pay a $10 fee to the state. A week later there will be an Olde Time Baseball Game. Originally part of the Centennial celebration, the game was rescheduled for June 14, at 1 p.m. It promises to be a fantastic event filled with history and hometown spirit. Teama are the Flemington Neshanock Baseball Club vs. the Enterprise BBC, and the the game will be held at Brian Bennett Field, behind CVS on Windermere Avenue. The players will wear 19th century uniforms and play by that period’s rules, without any protective gear.
That same day, the Greenwood Lake Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual Street Fair, making it a perfect day to enjoy all that the lakeside community has to offer, with dozens of food and craft vendors that will be taking over Windermere Avenue, the Main Street of the village.
Meanwhile, the Village has published its 2025 free Waterfront Park concert calendar for the season, with the first concert scheduled for June 28. And this year’s free fireworks for the July Fourth Celebration will be held on. Saturday July 5, featuring the Ladies of the 80s concert that evening.
Finally don’t miss the popular Lakeside Farmers’ Market, which kicks off on Saturday, May 31, at Winstanley Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Whether you’re shopping for fresh produce, fresh baked goods, handmade crafts, or catching up with neighbors, you’ll find new vendors, returning favorites, and a true celebration of local flavor.
