Rock and roll is here, beginning Saturday night

You’ll have many opportunities in the coming week to appreciate what the Duke was talking about, given the array - and variety - of music at local venues.

Saturday, April 19

Clearview Vineyard & Winery (35 Clearview Lane) kicks things off at 2 p.m. with Jet Screamer, bringing classic rock and pop to the vineyard.

Also at 2 p.m., singer-songwriter E’lissa Jones returns to Warwick Valley Winery, Distillery & Orchard (114 Little York Road) with her soulful sounds.

At 3 p.m., Meadow Blues Coffee (8 Greycourt Ave.) welcomes Jaxx Cafe for a bluesy, roots-rock set while the Winter-Humpert Duo delivers an acoustic set of classic rock favorites over at Pennings Cidery (4 Warwick Turnpike) at the same time.

Trail’s End Taphouse at GWL Garden Market (1197 Route 17A) hosts Missy Ping at 3:30 p.m. as part of its 4/20 celebration.

Evening shows kick off at 6 p.m. with acoustic good times from the Hamwagon Band at Brown Barn Farms at Orange County Distillery (286 Maple Avenue, New Hampton), while country fans can enjoy Kickin’ Nash at Tin Barn Brewing (62 Kings Highway Bypass).

Wrap up the night with an 8 p.m. set from the Blue Hearts Jazz Ensemble at The Last Whisky Bar (45 Woodlands Way), featuring Darius Beckford on keys, Mike Aiese on bass and Kim Peralta on drums.

Wednesday, April 23

At 5:30 p.m., Blue Arrow Farm (86 Glenwood Road) presents Wind Up Monkey as part of Danny C’s Wednesday Night Concert Series. This four-piece cover band is making their debut with a high-energy set filled with crowd favorites.

At 6 p.m., head to Meadow Blues Coffee for a solo performance by J.P., whose Southern rock roots run deep. With experience fronting bands like Blue Sky and 8th Grade Science, J.P. delivers powerful acoustic renditions of classics from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Thursday, April 24

Show off your musical chops or just enjoy the talent on display at The Last Whisky Bar during Open Mic Night with Ken Flood starting at 7 p.m.

Friday, April 25

Friday is packed with diverse sounds starting at 6 p.m., catch Stereo Mikes live at Pennings Farm Market (161 Route 94 S.), bringing high-energy covers and crowd-pleasers.

Tin Barn Brewing hosts a special prom-themed event at 7 p.m. featuring Lotion American Party Band known for their infectious mix of rock, pop and dance hits. Tickets are available at tinbarn.com.

Also at 7 p.m., Trail’s End Taphouse at GWL Garden Market hosts Music Bingo Night, where your musical knowledge could win you prizes as you match songs to your bingo card.

For fans of eclectic sounds, Gerry Arias performs at 8 p.m. at The Last Whisky Bar.

And at 8:30 p.m., Barrel 28 (28 N Main St.) lights up with Hudson Valley’s own One Swift Kick, a classic rock cover band guaranteed to energize the room.
