Your kindness will never be forgotten'
To the editor: For the past two years, our two youngest sons, Lance Cpl. Brendan Gillen and Cpl. Timothy Gillen, have been proudly serving with the United States Marines. Much of that time has been spent patrolling the very dangerous streets and town of Al Qaim and Fallujah, Anbar Province in Iraq. This has been a very difficult time for not only our sons but for our entire family. Tim returned home to the U.S. a few months ago and is presently taking Special Forces training in California. Brendan will hopefully leave Iraq sometime this month. Both boys are scheduled to return to Iraq next year. We would like to thank our friends and neighbors, the Warwick Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary, the Warwick School District office staff, St. Stephen’s Parish and so many other people who have sent packages and letters, but most of all who have prayed for the safety of our sons and all of the sailors, airmen, soldiers and Marines serving our country so far away from their homes and families Your kindness will never be forgotten by our family and we thank you for helping “our Marines” complete their mission successfully.
