Where's the enforcement?
To the editor: I’m not one to question Warwick’s finest or even the State Police. They have a tough job and bear the brunt of every bad attitude and negative opinion of all police every day. That said, I have a question to those in charge who hand out the assignments and patrols - where is the enforcement on Pulaski Highway? Just this week, the speed limit for a majority of the road was lowered from 55 mph to 45 mph. That is fine and dandy, but the speeds haven’t dropped. Personally, I don’t care if someone does 55 mph out there - it’s the maniacs trying to relive their favorite NASCAR moments I am afraid of. I’m no saint and I’ll be the first to admit I have a lead foot, but just the same - these new speed limits mean nothing without enforcement. Anyone who has driven through Ogdensburg, N.J., knows the value of strict enforcement - cars rarely go even 1 mph over the limit in that town. Someone obviously thought that the speed limit needed to be lowered for a reason; now that it has, let’s see some real significant law enforcement presence on that road or we might as well remove the signs altogether.
