Where's the enforcement?

To the editor: I’m truly in agreement with our need for the proposed stop signs on South Street and elsewhere in the Village. However, the stop signs obviously mean nothing to a majority of drivers because few ever stop at them. Seeing how I observe almost no one being pulled over for this infraction, a stop sign every 50 feet will make little difference. Just as passing on double solid line, tailgating and flashing drivers on Route 17A are dangerous, these activities all continue because there is little enforcement.
