What will be left behind when the Port of Call closes

To the editor: As a longtime supporter of Main Street, it saddens me to see yet another store close. I moved here in 1990 and one of the reasons was our lovely village. Unless, we, the residents, support our merchants I fear that more stores will close and as a result our lovely town will suffer the results. For the last six years, Deborah and Anthony Blomfield tried to make a difference with their store. They offered artists a place to gather and show their work, they contributed ideas to fellow merchants and guild members, they gave it their all. And now because they never really received true support from us, they are closing. Some say they were too expensive. I say were they really? Was it worth the drive to save a few dollars? And so, another chapter closes in the Village of Warwick, I wish Tony and Deborah good luck in their future; I know they will do well. At the same time I hope that there is a future for Main Street and for the future value of our town. Susan Haber Warwick
