What hands are you driving with?
To the editor: Am I the only one? Am I the only one who feels like they are getting run off the road trying to make a right onto Sanfordville Road from Route 94 by Warwick Dodge? I, like many others, frequent ShopRite numerous times a week. Leaving ShopRite and turning left onto Route 94 heading toward Pennings is becoming more challenging as Route 94 gets busier and busier. But then to make a right hand turn onto Sanfordville Road can be even more challenging. I find myself and my children constantly feeling like we are being run off the road because too many times the car directly behind us chooses not to slow down. I have people beep their horns at me and why ... because my blinker is on and I am simply making a turn. I cannot understand the resistance of so many to slow down. Yes, the speed limit is 50 mph but we all have the right to make a turn and all drivers have the responsibility to themselves and everyone else on the road to follow the rules of the road. I remember from taking my driving test that we are to remain so many feet away from the car in front of us. What if it was your mother or grandmother - would you then slow down and allow them the courtesy of making a turn? I should hope so. A car is both a privilege and a weapon in the wrong hands.
