Warwick Valley Humane Society offers its thanks
To the editor: The Warwick Valley Humane Society would like to extend our heart-felt thanks and appreciation to all the merchants and their customers who so generously supported our 2005 raffle fund raiser. To the management and staff at Warwick and Chester ShopRites; Bill, Marilyn, Liz and company at Wadeson’s Home Center; Jerry, Zena and the gang at Red Barn Pet Supply; Laurie at Northern Bear Pet Supply; Mark and Carolyn at New Milford Deli; Tom Cunningham, Postmaster Greenwood Lake Post Office; and Dave and staff at Hometowne Pet Supply, my personal and profound gratitude for the courtesy, cooperation, warmth and welcome with which my sale dates were met. Your customers were so gracious, generous and eager to support our society’s efforts to provide a helping hand to the hundreds of stray and homeless pets in our community. Congratulations to our prize winners, the Lever family of Warwick, Dwight Davies of Vernon, and Joan Caramella of Monroe who purchased their winning tickets at Warwick ShopRite, New Milford Deli and Wadeson’s, respectively. A special thank you to Mrs. Caramella, who chose to sponsor a shelter dog for one year with her prize money, a gift that was deeply appreciated. This year presented our biggest challenge ever with rising costs of veterinary care, utilities, supplies, etc., and the alarming numbers of unwanted, abandoned, neglected and unclaimed strays that arrived at our door in desperate need of a safe halfway house, medical attention and above all, a chance for a new and loving family. Thank you all for helping us to meet their needs and provide the bright new beginnings and happy endings they so well deserve. I look forward to next year’s raffle fund raiser and thank you for sharing with me your personal pet stories and updates on our shelter graduates. You made each sale date a truly enjoyable and memorable experience. Lee Peterson, Corresponding Secretary Warwick Valley Humane Society
