‘Warwick is a caring community'

To the editor: The Warwick Ecumenical Council wants to send a huge thank you to the people of Warwick - organizations, churches and individuals - for the support given the Holiday Food Basket project. Every year at Thanksgiving and at Christmas, the council sets out to provide the makings of a holiday dinner and, at Christmas, gifts for children, for those in our community who need help in providing a celebratory feast for their families. Each year the number requesting baskets grows and each year the number of people willing to adopt a family and/or support the program in dozens of other ways also grows. This year, baskets were distributed to 167 families at Thanksgiving and 178 families at Christmas. Warwick is a caring community. Seeing the generosity of its people is rewarding and inspiring to those of us who work on the food basket program. Thank you for joining so willingly in this wonderful endeavor. Thank you for all your help. Marge Koopman, chairman on behalf of the Holiday Food Basket Committee
