Vote for Jerry Sommer

To the editor: The Warwick School Board faces a monumental task. On the one hand, it is essential we keep Warwick affordable. On the other hand, increasing population and unfunded mandates make it more and more difficult to achieve quality education at a reasonable cost. There are few people I would trust with this thorny problem more than Jerry Sommer. For as long as I can remember, whenever there has been a need in our community Jerry has been there. He has been a member of the School Board, the executive board of Orange Environment, the Warwick Lions Club, Sustainable Warwick, the Town Recreation board, in fact, more organizations than I have space to mention. More important though is that in every role he has taken on, he has proven himself willing to work hard to give the most he can to the community. Now Jerry is running for the Warwick School Board. I know he will take the time to consider all the options, to learn all the details of the problem, and to see what others are doing to address the problems of our education system. I hope everyone will take the time to vote for Jerry Sommer for Warwick School Board. Robert McGrath Warwick
