Unsung heroes

To the editor: Recently, my husband and I were on Route 17A coming over Mt. Peter from Greenwood Lake to Warwick when we became involved in an accident. We want to acknowledge all the wonderful people who helped us in our time of turmoil: The first young lady to come to our aid was a great comfort in keeping us calm and reassuring us that the people in the other car were in the same condition as we were. The off-duty officer who called in the accident was most professional and kind. The police on the scene were courteous and quickly found out the information they needed. The EMS crews and the Greenwood Lake Fire Department were so well trained and extremely competent in their job. I do not know the names of all involved but the two Neil’s in our bus were outstanding! Dr. Dittmeier and his staff at St. Anthony’ Community Hospital’s emergency room also are to be commended. You all know who you are - thank you - you all deserve medals for the jobs that you do.
