The benevolence of our community'
To the editor: In the last few months, two annual events were held to benefit the Anthony C. Quinn Memorial Fund. The first, the Second Annual One Mile Swim was held this past August at Wawayanda State Park. The second, the Second Annual Columbus Day Dinner Dance, was held at St. Stephen’s School. Both events were great successes due to the selfless donations and acts of several businesses and individuals in our community. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to these business and individuals who so freely gave to these events: Benito Muto and Benito’s Pizzeria and Restaurant openhandedly donated a feast for nearly 200 people. Likewise, the Abribat family, through their business, Warwick General Rental, generously provided every thing needed for both events from tents to tables, silverware and china at no expense. Warwick’s exceptional D.J.,Richard Pelligrino (A.K.A. D.J. Rich Pell), donated his time at the dinner dance, playing five hours of fun, lively music, which kept the crowd on their feet all night long. The Sidoti family donated a truck load of pumpkins, hay bales and cornstalks to transform the school gym into a festive hall. Michelle and Tim Gallagher, proprietors of TNT Wholesale Distributors gave us the most beautiful arrangements of flowers at cost. Beth Ibbetson donated homemade cakes to serve 200. Country Chevrolet, Bernadette Lupinetti, Esq., and Warwick Rental sponsored the One Mile Swim. C&D’s Old World Bagel Shop donated dozens of bagels for the event. Steve Ellis, the head of Wawayanda State Park, and the park rangers could not have been helpful and professional towards us and Wawayanda’s lifeguards volunteered their time for the event. A special thanks to the Warwick High School girl’s and boy’s swim team members who volunteered their time to set-up, serve and clean up at the dinner dance and/or lifeguard at the One Mile Swim. It was only through the benevolence of these businesses and individuals of our community, that both benefits were the successes that they were. For this, we are eternally grateful. It is people like these, who so willingly open their hearts, who make this world a better place. The Quinn family and The Anthony C. Quinn Memorial Fund Committee
