Thanks to the two men who rescued my cat

To the editor: I am writing this letter to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to Dan and James of Greenwood Tree Service in Chester for coming out in the extreme, bitter cold and dark of night to rescue my cat from a tree. He’d been missing for four days. On Friday, Jan. 26, I heard a sound and followed it, and found my Manx cat, Ripple, high up in a tree, crying loudly. After going to the police station, animal warden, calling a number they gave me of another tree service (who never returned my call), calling several other tree services, speaking with the police station again and finally the fire department, one of my calls was returned. Within an hour Dan and James arrived, spikes and climbing gear in hand and we headed over to where Ripple was stranded. In spite of the bitter and biting cold, darkness, briars and brambles, they brought Ripple down safely. Needless to say, he was starving and thirsty, but otherwise seemed okay and happy to have been rescued from the cold. When all of our other efforts failed to bring help, these two young men came through for us. My heartfelt thanks and appreciation go out to these guys for going well above and beyond the call of being a tree service. Thanks guys. You were an answer to many prayers. Jackie Bowns Warwick
