To the editor: What a wonderful community we live in! The 20th Annual Warwick Valley Middle School PTA December Craft Fair was a huge success. The Dec. 3 event welcomed visitors from as far away as Pennsylvania and Connecticut and the beautiful art and homemade crafts where a big hit. The co-chairs would like to thank the middle school staff (the front office especially for fielding all the communication with patience and professionalism), the administration and the students for supporting the PTA in this important fund-raising effort. Mrs. Ann Val, we are sorry to see you retire (as principal) and hope your replacement can do as good a job in managing such a big house full of such diverse interests. Thank you for being so accommodating and generous with space and staff help over the years. The following Warwick businesses also deserve a big thank you: Jackie’s Deli, for the delicious hard rolls; C & D Old World Bagels, need I say more; the Warwick Press for speedy printing and friendly service; and Bravo Pizza (who would believe 10 pizzas delivered each hour so we could sell them by the slice?). The WVMS PTA is an organization that supports the students and staff in their learning environment. The money earned from this fund raiser serves the kids with things ranging from recess equipment and musical instruments to safe and supervised dances. The parent volunteers and the students who work community service volunteer hours, help our community to remain vibrant with productive, engaged citizens. Thank you all for the support and we’ll see you next year. Sincerely, Lisa Pearce and Salvina Michel Co-chairs
