Thanks to Adams Fairacre Farms

To The Editor: I am writing to acknowledge the generosity of a local market, Adams Fairacre Farms, and specifically Roger Dodge, bakery manager. We have a tradition in our family of bringing an extra-large gingerbread house to the Ronald McDonald house in New York City each December, to decorate together with the families there. It was our goal to help them, even if just for a little while, forget why they are spending the holidays there. It has been very successful, and each year they look forward to smashing and eating the house on New Years Eve. Upon the birth of my last two, of four, children, I decided to solicit some local help to bake the giant, 2 foot by 3 foot house. I simply no longer had the time for the baking. When I called Roger at Adams, and offered to pay whatever the cost, he immediately put me on hold, and came back moments later to say that they would be glad to donate the giant gingerbread house. I was so thrilled and taken aback to find that a large company like this had a soft spot, and am so grateful that they have offered this service to me, twice. It is beyond necessary to acknowledge this kindness in our community, and I will continue to wish that a store like Adams will find it’s way to Warwick. Laura M. Vreeland Warwick
