Tax responsibility
To the editor: Thank you, Warwick “No” voters. I must apologize to Dr. Greenhall for this defeat of his first budget. He has inherited the mantle of his predecessor, Dr. Natale, who unfortunately had the school board wrapped around his finger during his entire tenure here . We have a responsibility to give our children a good education in a healthy environment. That is it! Fini. Anything else requested is only for those children whose parents think we’re blessed by the Almighty to be leaders of nations and require esoteric subjects and sports to ready them for their awesome tasks. Be ready to continue turning down these budgets until the local, state and federal governments decide to find a way to fund public education that does not force those on fixed and low incomes who are homeowners to have to decide whether to buy food or medicine or pay their taxes. Voting on the school budget is the “only” vote we have as citizens to determine one very large portion of our tax load. No student ever failed due to an austerity budget. Say no in May 2007, 2008, 2009,2 010, 2011, 2012 - whatever it takes to get everyone to pay their fair share, just not homeowners. Joseph Stanaitis Warwick
