To the editor: I strongly recommend that Florida School District voters offer continued support and cast their vote for John Redman for the school’s Board of Education. Mr. Redman is a current member of the Florida District’s Board of Ed and a member of both S.S. Seward’s and Golden Hill’s Building Leadership Teams. Many positive changes have taken place under Mr. Redman and the current board’s watch. These include hiring a new and proactive superintendent, Douglas Burnside. Since he began, there is a more open environment where parents, teachers and students are strongly encouraged to share their concerns and ideas for better educational practices. Math and reading curriculums have been upgraded to offer better learning continuity and ability to meet state standards. Also, a more comprehensive Code of Conduct has been established, ensuring students a safer environment, which allows them to focus more intently on their studies. As a BLT member, Mr. Redman has contributed his time and effort to support a variety of initiatives, which augment existing curriculums by targeting more specialized areas of need. These programs include additional remedial services as well as further opportunities for educational enrichment beyond the normal scope of the classroom. Finally, as a business owner, Mr. Redman generously assists both Florida schools by donating the use of his company’s event planning resources for a wide variety of school functions. John Redman has worked unceasingly to achieve the school community’s goals for its children and I hope that the Florida community will give him their vote for Board of Education representative so that he may continue in this capacity.
