To the editor: My name is Jerry Sommer and I am running for re-election for the Warwick Valley School District Board. The past three years on the board have been very rewarding. I believe that I have been able to represent the interests of both the school and the community at large. I am known as a community activist. I am currently serving on the Warwick Recreation Committee and on the executive board of Orange Environment. I am a 50-year member of the Masonic Fraternity and a longtime member of the Warwick Lions Club. However, my service on the School Board has been the most rewarding. For three years, I have worked hard on the behalf of the children of the district to promote quality education in our schools. Under the present board, we have become one of the best school districts in Orange County. We have faced many challenges, but we have been able to maintain the high levels of achievement of our students. Our town can be proud of the successes that our students have achieved, and I would be honored to continue to work towards an even greater future for the children of our district. Very truly yours, Jerry Sommer Warwick
