Share our similarities and respect our differences'

To the editor (and especially to Victoria Garloch): Victoria, I am sure that your parents are very proud of you for expressing yourself so well in your letter in the Dec. 8, 2006, newspaper. I find that I must correct one mistake or misconception that you made. Jewish children do not celebrate Christmas or have Santa deliver presents. We celebrate Chanukah with a menorah and gifts from family and friends. Perhaps your friends have both a Jewish and non-Jewish parent and celebrate both holidays. We all hope for peace and understanding of all cultures. We celebrate and share our similarities and respect our differences. I hope you enjoy a very happy holiday. Rita Laskin Warwick
