Remember this
To the editor: On Sunday, Nov. 11, I participated in the Veterans Day Celebration in Warwick. I was truly, truly hurt by the sparse turnout from Warwick citizens. Our marching route was from the Fire Company on Forester Avenue to the Veterans Monument at the entrance of Memorial Park, a distance of a quarter of a mile. Along the route, there was only five people cheering all of the veterans. Yes, you read that correctly - five people from the entire community of Warwick. More people showed up for the Halloween parade in Warwick then attended Veterans Day Celebration. Veterans should be able to march down Main Street. Maybe next year. Remember this: Where would you be if it were not for the veterans who have spilled a river of blood for “Your Freedom.” Lou Pardo Viet Nam veteran Warwick
