To the editor: On behalf of Project Graduation 2006, we would like to thank all the contributors who called in with pledges during our 2006 Cablethon on April 9. Thanks also to all the local merchants who donated prizes. We apologize for the lack of information given to those who called with pledges and would like to take this opportunity to let all know that your donations can be mailed to Project Graduation, P.O. Box 1235, Warwick, N.Y. 10990. Prizes will be mailed to raffle winners immediately upon receipt of pledged donations. Your generosity is very much appreciated and your support is for a worthy cause. Project Graduation is a committee of parents of the Class of 2006 raising funds to off-set the cost of the All-Night Drug & Alcohol Free Party on the night of graduation. The students and their guests will enjoy a fun-filled night of entertainment at Minerals Resort & Spa in Vernon, N.J., while their parents and the community can be assured that they are celebrating their accomplishments in a safe and responsible way. Our committee has hosted several fund-raising events throughout the school year such as a Fashion Show, Tricky Tray and Texas Hold’ Em Tournament. However, the lack of parent participation for volunteers is disheartening and makes each fund-raising event so much more work than it needs to be. This is a cry for help to all parents of seniors - please come and join us at our next meeting on May 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school or contact me at mconklin@warwick.net and I can get you up-to-date on all planned future events. We are all so busy but if we can all give a little time we can give our kids a safe night of partying - a night of memories that will last their lifetime. We are in danger of having to cancel the party if we don’t get enough volunteers to chaperone; if you can’t stay all night, perhaps you can come for a few hours. We have a few more fund raisers coming up - a Spring Tricky Tray on April 28 in the high school; a volleyball tournament for June. Everyone: Please watch for details on all upcoming events. And senior parents: Don’t just watch. Please get involved. Dana Conklin, chairperson Project Graduation 2006
