One more accident
To the editor, Yesterday, 29 October 2006, there was yet another dreadful accident at the corner of Blooms Corners Road and County 1 - three ambulances, blood, smashed cars, injured people, lives disrupted, big traffic delays in several directions. It is an all-too-familiar sight. A few weeks ago a helicopter landed on a neighbor’s lawn to medically evacuate a seriously injured person at this spot. Hardly a month goes by without at least one accident at this intersection, despite the flashing lights. If the Luft/Stanford development is allowed to take place, with at least 87 new homes and probably twice as many vehicles feeding into Blooms Corners Road, we can confidently expect a large increase in the number of casualties at this location. Did the planners take into account the expected carnage resulting from their plans? Diana Boernstein Warwick
