Now is the time

To the editor: The Community Preservation Fund issue has been represented by those who agree and by its opponents. The concept to intelligently control growth and help save the environment in any way at what seems to be a modest cost and is really a no brainier. It seems most of the local folks born and raised in the area who have witnessed the changes are understandingly attached to the land even though some farms are no longer active. Many of the newer residents have also come to love the area with the same passion to retain the open space and the beauty not seen in many other locales. Now is the time to embrace not only are desire to maintain a way of life in Warwick but an opportunity to protect the fragile infrastructure which provides us with our everyday water supply. We must from this local experience be compelled to join the national community who are seeking to instill safe guards in the fight against global warming. I would hope on Nov. 7 we will all support the Community Preservation Fund and those who nationally support the environment to keep the world safe and healthy. Hank Fortmuller Warwick
