No more one-party government

“In the frank expression of conflicting opinions lies the greatest promise of wisdom in government action.” Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis These famous words about government suggest that ideas brought forth from a variety of sources, strengthen governmental decision making and increase its long term success. At the present time, our town is governed by one party and one party alone. Good for that one party, but bad for the democratic ideal of bringing forth opposing views to help in the decision making process. Many times people ask for a second opinion when searching for answers before making a final decision. It may be a conflicting opinion, but as the quote suggests there “lies the greatest promise of wisdom.” In this election year the voters in Town of Warwick have the opportunity to hear ideas and opinions that differ from the one party in power. In their platforms, Democratic candidates Bill Olsen and Kurt Emmerich present a thoughtful alternative to the voters, and for the first time in many years, offer a choice on solutions to problems. Bill Olsen and Kurt Emmerich give voters that second valuable opinion so needed in order to have wisdom in government. I urge the Town voters to get to know Democratic candidates Bill Olsen and Kurt Emmerich and their well thought out positions on the issues. Doug Hurd Warwick
