Many, many thanks for the support
To the editor: The WVHS PTSA would like to thank everyone who helped make our 2006 fund raisers - the Gertrude Hawk Chocolate Sale and our Fall Tricky Tray - great successes. It takes many volunteers to plan and implement a successful event - so our thanks to all the volunteers who called requesting basket donations from the HS parents. Also thanks to those who helped set up, clean up, sell raffle tickets and refreshments. Our thanks to the WVHS office and custodial staff for all their help storing the baskets and making sure we had everything we needed that night. Thank you to the children, our runners, who delivered the baskets to the winners. With the effort of many we had a total of 161 baskets filled with wonderful items for our Tricky Tray. It was a fun night for all. Our thanks to all that attended. A very special thanks to our treasurer, Valerie Anarumo, who was also the chairperson for both fund raisers - she continues to do a wonderful job. (Also if anyone knows of anyone who lost a woman’s jacket that night - please call Arleen at 986-3763.) The WVHS PTSA would also like to thank Marie Nick, advisor to the WVHS Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Club, and all of its members. This High School club has taken the initiative of assisting the High School PTSA with increasing our membership. The FBLA club made posters, which were displayed throughout the high school on Back to School Night and Parent Conferences. They also circulated around the school encouraging parents, teachers, staff and students to join. Their efforts have been outstanding: Our membership count has just about doubled with their assistance. So many thanks for a job well done - I think our future is in good hands. Anyone wishing to join the PTSA, please pick up a membership form in the high school office - we would love to have you as a member. The PTSA would like to thank our local papers, The Warwick Advertiser and The Warwick Dispatch, for helping us get out the word of our fund raisers to the community. In closing, the WVHS PTSA would like to wish everyone a safe holiday season and a Happy and Healthy 2007. Sincerely, Arleen McManus/Patti Laster WVHS PTSA co-presidents Valerie Anarumo WVHS PTSA treasurer Joyce Darcey WVHS PTSA secretary
