Making the local connection

    To the editor: When I moved to Warwick last year I thought I hit the cable jackpot with Optimum Triple Play. Cable, internet and phone in a neat little package for an unbelievable price. All was well until I needed service for my internet and phone connection. I was rudely told that they were a cable company and not in the phone business. Their disrespect and arrogance led me to cancel my service with Optimum immediately. Warwick Valley Telephone (WVT) came to my rescue. They apologized because they could not come that day but would be at my house first thing the next morning. Their service policy states that they must respond to a service call within 24 hours. And, they do not kidnap you for 10 hours waiting for the service man to come. John from WVT arrived as promised, was on time and I received professional, courteous service. He was very considerate of my carpets and furniture and told me exactly what he was going to do. He thoroughly explained how the TV, Internet and phone worked which was an in-depth demonstration and not a hurry up two-minute spiel. Thank you WVT and all the people I came in contact with.
