‘Main Street will be the poorer'

To the editor: It is with great sadness we acknowledge the demise of our beloved Warwick bookstore. From the first, its able manager, our friend Michael McDermott, has brought to us and our community the best a bookstore can be. Whenever we needed books, Michael was quick to order them for us He opened the bookstore to my husband, Dr. Frederick Franck, for talks and book signings, making everyone welcome after working all day at the store. Michael has handled with great care orders for my husband’s books. He always had good suggestions for gifts and books we would enjoy. It is a pity Warwick is losing this gem. We are disheartened for ourselves, our friend Michael, and our town. We wish you well, Michael. Main Street will be the poorer for your absence. Claske Berndes Franck Warwick
