‘Looking for to the change'

To the editor: I’ve had it. I’ve been accused of naiveté and of supporting terrorism; I‘m not patriotic if I question our current leadership. Well, our current leadership is letting us down and that’s why I am voting for John Hall for Congress in the 19th district on Nov. 7. We are embroiled in a extremely costly conflict in Iraq because of misguided or mistaken information, close to 100 of our troops have died this month there and the continually botched American operation has sunk into a civil war. We’re told how much we’re saving on taxes, but on the news, the legislatures are cutting funding to health and education and social services. The cost of these responsibilities is going to fall somewhere. My elderly aunt lost her prescription drug coverage for two months this year until we could fathom the ridiculous complexity of the new drug plan. The cost of my family’s own health insurance is more than a full-time job at minimum wage. At least I’m healthy, working and insured (so far). Sue Kelly has said recently that she’s tried to focus on local issues. These are local issues, Sue. You should have to spoken up in Washington. You have to think for yourself. John Hall will be a voice of creativity and honesty in Washington. He will be part of a dedicated new wave of bi-partisan leadership that will move us into this new century. I’m looking forward to the change. Norma Bennett Pine Island
