Why must you speed?
Have you ever noticed the white and black signs with the big numbers on them posted on every road? That number is the maximum speed legally allowed on that stretch of road. Its designed for your safety as well as those sharing the road.
Around here, many of the roads, including my street, are set at 30 mph, the Town Speed Limit. Unfortunately, every single day while I am out walking my dogs, cars fly past us at speeds far beyond 30 mph.
Almost every day while driving the speed limit, someone rides my bumper.
My teenager constantly has someone impatiently tailgating her and giving her the brights while she drives the posted speed limit.
It creates a stressful situation and frankly, Ive had it. Just tonight while walking my dogs a man in a silver Jeep Cherokee whizzed by me at what had to have been 50 mph.
What could possibly be worth endangering yourself and others, just to get there a few minutes faster? Slow down.
