Weekend evening concerts are part of what makes Warwick special
I am compelled to write this letter to express my opinion about staging the concerts in the afternoons instead of Friday and Saturday nights. These concerts are the heart and soul of Warwick. They attract people from other towns and bring people into the village.
The restaurants are jumping before the concerts with people eating dinner before the events and not just the ones on Railroad Ave.
The bars that have live music don't start their music until at least 9 and sometimes 10 p.m. and the patrons that would go to these places will go there regardless of the concert going on.
If anything - the groups without children may just want to continue enjoying the entire range of entertainment in our beautiful village afterwards.
Families have things to do during the day that they can't do during the week and I believe the attraction to the concerts would greatly suffer by moving them to the afternoon.
This village is my home but it is also the pride of Orange County. What makes Warwick special is the wonderful downtown, the farmlands, vineyards and part of that "hometown" feeling is looking forward to the Friday and Saturday night concerts.
Meeting the whole family there watching the children dancing and running around.
I love seeing all my neighbors and friends and making new ones!
I would be disappointed if this change was made. I love my village and I know that they will really think this through before board meets again.
