VOWP: Village of Warwick Prime

Imagine if our local village government offered Prime Membership.
I think Village of Warwick Prime could afford those who enroll an awful lot of benefits.
There would be no fee but you would need to qualify.
Residents of village homes would not qualify but a merchant in good standing could really collect lots of points and influence over the years.
Among other privileges you’d have unlimited input, clout and credibility with the Village and Planning Boards. Actual reality or code enforcement suspended for VOWP members.
If you stood to violate a code or statute or just wanted to build something that was prohibited in writing in the zoning you could have attorneys blow lots of smoke and act like they had responsibly answer all concerns by local homeowners.
Out of character with surrounding homes?
Check that box NO IMPACT for the family next door.
Village of Warwick Prime would only allow public comment at Planning Board Meetings once and never again even though additional public input is encouraged throughout the SEQRA process all over New York State in many communities.
Even silent input by civil citizens like signs at a meeting would prompt a call to the cops.
Just like at the Jan. 18, meeting of the Planning Board.
Merchant members and hired “experts” could bloviate endlessly about being really good guys and never meeting this much opposition in their entire careers.
The planning board would lap it up, slap 'em on the back, laugh and move to approve.
Residential access to straight answers about where old 200-foot boundaries disappeared to would be throttled back. Metes and bounds be damned the Village of Warwick Prime applicant gets to ignore the neighbors concerns with no answers required. Vague board responses are A-OK. He’s a member.
VOWP applicants could even pre-qualify their anticipated sound code violations and disturbance of residents lives by pointing fingers at other establishments who already violate similar ordinances.
It’s hard to believe this does not already exist.
Let’s just make it official.
