Unclaimed funds
I read about the recent audit and recommendations by the New York State Comptroller’s Office in regards to the Warwick School District. We in New York are fortunate to have such checks and balances in our government structure.
I checked the New York State Office of Comptrollers Web site which list unclaimed funds which have been turned over to the State. Low and behold I found four unclaimed funds belonging to the Warwick Valley School District.
I am shocked that the Comptroller’s Office did not include these four unclaimed funds in their report. Is it possible that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing?
To make the Warwick Valley School District’s work easier, I’ll list the four funds that are listed on the Comptrollers Web site: Aetna Life, Staples, Maxi Drug South and the College Entrance Examination Board. They can look for themselves at: https://ouf.osc.state.ny.us/ouf .
Perhaps they can use these unclaimed funds to buy a book or two.
