'This incivility is unacceptable'

As a business owner in the Village of Warwick, now in our 29th year, I understand the issue of parking.
Parking is limited, especially now with the additional restaurants and shops which have opened over the years.
I can appreciate the village's efforts to secure additional parking for our daily use. The parking lot on First Street is an example of this. And I understand the village is always considering other parking options if and when they become available.
In an effort to help with the flow of parking, they have in the past and currently use the services of a parking enforcer. This person is responsible for ticketing cars that have out timed their meters, stayed over the two-hour limit and other infractions.
This is their job. The objective of enforcing these parking laws is to free up parking spaces for our customers and to encourage shopkeepers, restaurateurs and employees thereof to use our municipal lots.
Unfortunately and often these same shop keepers and restaurateurs whom these parking parameters help are the number one offenders.
But more that just their parking infractions, many have vilified and treated our parking enforcer with such contempt and disrespect.
    This incivility is unacceptable.
I have seen Melissa in her capacity as parking enforcer do her job in the most fair and friendly manner. She will even give notice to shopkeepers and clerks and restaurant staff that their meter is almost up or that it is time to move their vehicle.
We are lucky to have such a pleasant, hard working village employee as Melissa, doing her best to keep traffic flowing.
Please be respectful. I tell my 7 year old that every morning before he gets on the bus.
Thank you for reading this message.
