‘This devastating blow’

| 04 Sep 2012 | 12:54

Words cannot describe how disappointed I am that I live in a community that would decide to choose a lower tuition cost over quality education.
Not only has this decision broken a bond between Tuxedo and Greenwood Lake, but eventually will leave the alumni of George F. Baker High School with no home to return to.
Thinking with your wallets with the idea that it would benefit our students in the long run will hurt them by sending them to a community where we are not accepted like we were in Tuxedo.
Tuxedo was not just a school, it was like a family, which now unfortunately will have to suffer.
I would just like to thank the teachers, administrators, counselors and staff members who helped educate and take care of the Tuxedo and Greenwood Lake students over the past 30 years.
I’m sorry nobody seems to appreciate what all of you have contributed to our communities by educating our student so well and making us feel welcomed and accepted.
I wish all of you the best of luck in finding new endeavors. All involved don’t deserve this devastating blow.
