‘The only way I can thank these good people ....’

| 02 Mar 2012 | 03:14

On Tuesday, Jan. 31, while crossing Forester Avenue at one in the afternoon, I was hit by a black car. The driver left me lying in the road, bewildered, battered and bleeding. I should mention that I am a senior citizen.

I want to thank the Good Samaritans who came to my aid. The first one to stop was a very compassionate young man who was wearing a dark green jacket. He was so kind.

The next two ladies were both nurses. They stopped because that is just what they do. One of them was on her way to Park Avenue school. What nice women, and so very caring. They certainly are credits to their profession.

Of course, the ambulance crew was wonderful. I am so lucky to be living in Warwick.

As for the runaway driver, I hope you have had some bouts of conscience and a few sleepless nights. Maybe this will help you become a more responsible person.

I know I will remember you while I recover.

Again, dear Samaritans, you have my thanks, respect, admiration and most definitely my prayers.

    Sincerely, Elaine M. Brodhead Warwick
