Thank you to the Mardi Gras for a Cause committee for a well-planned, fun first annual event in Warwick to benefit the many children thtroughout the Town of Warwick who are supported with weekend meals by Backpack Snack Attack.

Committee Chair Allison Fox, John Desibia, Carissa Cupero, Eric Callari, Gayle Donnely and Will Orosz organized the event.

Thank you, also, to the following local restaurants who were part of the event, hosting the musicians and bringing Mardi Gras to Warwick with food and drink specials for the evening:

    • Blarney Station – Eric Callari and Clarissa Cupero performing

    • Caffe a la Mode – Under 21 open mic with Jim Elwell

    • The Dautaj – Jeremy Langdale with guest drummer Allison Fox

    • Fetch – Joe Santora
    • Fratello – Gayle Donnelly with Steve Vecchiotti and Delaynie Cusick

    • Halligan’s Pub – The Frank Sorino All-Star Band with The Cypher Junkies and Troubasaur.

Mardi Gras for a Cause was a fun event that brought out the community. What made the evening extra special was the generosity of the community for a cause.

Prizes for the evening were donated by Dana Distributors and consisted of prizes including a flat screen HDTV, Blu-ray Player and NY Rangers tickets.

Price Chopper and ShopRite donated gift baskets and ShopRite made cakes for the King and Queen.

Through ticket sales and restaurant donations the event raised over $5,000.

Thank you to everyone involved in making Mardi Gras for a Cause a great event. Those of us who enjoyed the evening are looking forward to next year.
