Thank you

Once again the people of the Town of Warwick have shown an overwhelming generosity to their less fortunate neighbors.

The Warwick Ecumenical Council Thanksgiving/Christmas Food Basket Program would like to send out a grateful and heartfelt thank you to the residents of the Town of Warwick.

We were able to provide holiday meals for 240 families at Thanksgiving and 350 families at Christmas (which includes 100 baskets prepared and delivered to single farm worker men).

This program, completely run by volunteers, would not be possible without the incredible generosity of so many in our community who, in such difficult economic times, still found the holiday spirit and gave above and beyond any of our expectations.

We want to express our sincere thanks to:

    • Rosenberg Enterprises, Dr. Ray Bryant and the staff and students of the Warwick Valley School System.

    • Also: Bon Secours Charity Health System and Warwick ShopRite for their continued support of our program in so many ways.

    • Also: Ochs Orchards, Pennings Farm Store, the Warwick Merchants Guild who coordinated the Angel tree, and Betsy and Ken at Track 7 Postal.

    • Also: the Warwick Fire Department, Seely and Durland Insurance and WVT Communications Group.

    • Also: Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Village Mayor Michael Newhard, Larry s Deli, Frank’s Pizza and Pioneer Restaurant.

    • Also: St. Stephen’s Knights of Columbus and CCD, Central Deli in Florida, Christ Episcopal Church, the Warwick United Methodist Church and our good and faithful friends Lee and Paul.

We also want to offer a very special thanks to all the individuals, too numerous to list, who donated food, new toys, gifts and money, adopted families, volunteered their time the days of the baskets and helped in so many ways to make the holidays especially joyous for so many local families.

We are truly blessed to be living in a community filled with such a spirit of giving and caring.

Please keep in mind that the Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry is open year round to meet the needs of our community and is always in need of non-perishable food donations or cash gifts. May you all have a happy and healthy new year!
