Spring Tea success

| 06 May 2014 | 07:27

The trustees of the Florida Public Library would like to thank everyone who helped to make our Spring Tea on May 3 a success.

The plentiful, savory and sweet treats were generously provided by Janet’s Quality Baked Goods, Katie Cooks Catering and Down2Earth.

The drawing prize baskets were donated by Amity Arts Pottery, Chumley’s BBQ, Desserts by Dawn, Down2Earth, Florida Flowers and Gifts, ShopRite of Chester, Werner’s True Value and by two of our own trustees, Nancy Scott and Diane Arcieri.

Clare Kazmierczak of La Grande Finale presided over the splendid refreshment tables.

Madelyn Folino of The Black Dirt Storytelling Guild regaled us with a short interlude of stories, while Willow and Sophia Pskowski and Preston Campbell, students of Florida, recited poetry, all in honor of women.

Nancy Harcum and Kathy Botjer graciously donated all the vintage china.

Jay Harcum of harcumdesigns.com designed the tickets and pretty tea bag envelopes.

And last, but of course, not least, we would like to thank all of the lovely women, many sporting fanciful hats, who came out to support the Florida Public Library and enjoyed a wonderful and elegant afternoon.

Thank you to everybody who asked that the Spring Tea be an annual event. We believe this just might be the start of something new.

    Beth Pskowski, trustee
