Solutions for the renaissance of Greenwood Lake

As a long time village resident I, like many Lakers, have spent much time discussing the ins and outs of our hometown state of affairs. Of these discussions, I recall one in particular that I would like to share.

Approximately five years ago I met a young man with whom I expressed concern about our village. I remarked that drug use was on the rise, store fronts were empty, the lake was in terrible condition and there seemed to be a “head in the sand” approach to addressing these issues from local leadership.

I was pleasantly surprised by this young man’s ability to not only engage me in this discussion, but to put forth concrete solutions that would offer our village the renaissance it has long deserved.

Here we are, five years later, and most of the same problems exist in our village.

The same “head in the sand” leadership that has “proven” time and time again to be more concerned with decorating the problems at the expense of the taxpayers than resolving them is still in office.

It is a genuine relief to see that we finally have an option to bring in some new leadership to our amazing village.

I will be proud to cast my vote in our village election on March 19 on behalf of the betterment of Greenwood Lake, and for that very same young man I met five years ago - Jesse Dwyer.
