'Scott Martens is the leader we need in Albany Assembly'

I worked with AD98 candidate Scott Martens to introduce resolutions to our local leaders calling for legislative hearings on CPV in Albany and suspension of plant permits pending hearings.
Scott’s resolutions were met initially with strong resistance from nearly every town leader and the Orange County Legislature.
Undeterred, Scott invested more than a year of intense effort to slowly engage local leaders, discern their concerns and build common ground.
Scott spoke powerfully at numerous Orange County Legislature committee and public meetings and countless town meetings.
He built community coalitions, brought contentious parties to the table to forge agreement.
Scott’s superb preparation and his unwavering calm and collegiality in heated meetings gained the respect and trust of all.
Finally, CPV resolutions were passed in nine towns and in the Orange County Legislature.
Scott’s work in the Assembly will demand the same outstanding leadership skills that brought success for our resolutions.
Scott’s ready to do great things for us in Albany, as he has done in our communities.
We’ll be fortunate to have a man of his caliber and character as our voice in the Assembly.
