School bus driver 'went the extra mile to ensure' safety

I would like to commend a bus driver for the use of extra caution, exhibiting concern for the welfare of the school children being transported.

On March 12, just before 4 p.m., I was driving down Cascade Road when I came upon a stopped school bus, its red lights were flashing.

One car was already stopped ahead of me.

A student was about to cross the street as my car approached. The driver directed the student to wait. That driver did not permit the student to cross until my car came to a stop.

I would like to thank that driver for using extra care and for not assuming that I saw the bus or the stopped vehicle ahead of me.

I did see them, but all too often drivers fail to pay attention to the road.

I was pleased to see that the bus driver, in that given moment, went the extra mile to ensure the safety of all.

I do not know the driver’s name or bus number, but to the woman with the long, white hair that was driving that bus I say: “Thank you!”
