Remembering two men who made lasting contributions to Warwick
This past couple of weeks has seen two men who have made lasting contributions to our town enter eternal rest.
Roger Metzger was a man of gentle humor, kind words of encouragement but someone who also had a dogged determination to ensure our town remained a place where nature flourished.
His stewardship of Warwick’s parks and treescapes will be a lasting legacy to this honorable man.
Gene Kalyan also left us, and Gene will be remembered most importantly for his dedication to the renowned Queens Village Queens Drum and Bugle Corp.
No one will truly know how many hours Gene gave to generations of young girls or the lessons imparted that served them well as successful women.
Both of these men are the best examples of the committed citizens we are blessed with here in Warwick.
Condolences to the families, and may these men rest in peace.
