Raising a stink over single-use plastic bags

    Thanks to the Governor and our local environmentalists, next March, in the gamy old cloth bag I may have to use for my groceries, I will pack in it in addition to:
    • Plastic wrapped/packaged foodstuffs;
    • Pint baggies;
    • Quart baggies;
    • Gallon baggies;
    • Two-gallon baggies;
    • 32-gallon black plastic garbage bags;
    • 30-gallon black plastic bags;
    • Small kitchen trash bags;
    • Large trash bags;
    • Bags of tomatoes;
    • Prepackaged salad;
    • Plastic jars of mayonnaise;
    • Saran Wrap;
    • Various sizes of those Ziplock storage containers; plus
    Many other plastic packaged goods.
    By the way, none of the plastic packages/containers are biodegradable and our local recycling company does not want many of these soft plastic products in the recycling bins.
    Oops, shall I mention the plastic portion of disposable diapers for children and adults filling up our landfills.
    Let’s not raise a stink over them.
    But they are cleaner than the old gamy cloth bags we will be forced to use "unless" we want to give Cuomo three cents per bag to put into his bottomless pockets where all the tobacco taxes and gasoline taxes have gone, never to be accounted for.
    Let's keep Albany green. Good job, environmentalists.
