One congregation's community vision
We are pleased to respond to the letter in The Warwick Advertiser about the Pine Island school. While we can't speak to all the author's questions, we can certainly help her understand about the church that meets there.
Vision Community Church is a small, dedicated group of Christian people with a large local mission. Our Sunday morning worship of prayer, scripture, music and warm fellowship undergirds and supports our larger mission of giving to the Warwick community.
We support the community by paying rent for the use of the school building (and for snow removal).
We support the community by providing low cost and free clothing and household goods to those who live in the area (to date we have given away $100,000 worth of clothing including warm winter coats).
We support the community by providing space for an ESL program.
We support the community by sponsoring and providing space for the Warwick Community Kitchen, which has served more than 5,000 meals free of charge.
These programs would not exist without the volunteer members and commitment of the Vision Church.
If you are looking for a place to grow in spirit by putting your faith into practice, you would enjoy being a part of the Vision Church team.
If you are looking for a community of people to study with and to find how prayer, exploration of scripture, and music encourages, supports and guides our life work, you will find the people of Vision to be faithful companions on the way.
We don't have all the answers to life's problems, but we have energy, faith and willingness to do whatever we can to ease those problems.
We are an inclusive congregation and everyone is welcome.
Help us run the Clothing Closet/Hope Chest.
Join us for a spirited Bible study.
Or, come on a Sunday morning. Share prayers and conversation; share coffee and bagels.
There is always plenty of free parking.
