‘Now I’m asking you’

I have a few questions for the Greenwood Lake Joint Fire District’s commissioners:

Why do you want to increase your statutory spending limit by $430,000 every year for the foreseeable future?

How much will this impact my property taxes?

What will all that money buy?
I obviously missed the public hearing on the upcoming referendum. When was the public hearing held?

Are the facts, figures and justification for approving this referendum somewhere where I and other voters can easily access that information?

If not, to whom should I submit a Freedom of Information (FOIL) request?

Voters in this fire district have asked me these questions.

    Now I’m asking you.
For those of you who reside in the Greenwood Lake Joint Fire District, the referendum will be held on July 9 between 6-9 p.m. at the firehouse in Greenwood Lake.

Do you know what you will be voting for and how much it will cost you to approve this referendum?

    I don’t.
