Neither rain, nor sleet ... however

As the weather turns colder with the real possibility of snow and ice, your mail carriers would like to remind all mailbox owners of some things that would make it better for your mail carriers to do their job easier and more efficiently.

• Please keep the approach to and departure from your mail box, and sidewalks and steps to your home clear of snow, ice, branches and brush.

• Please keep your trash and recycle bins, and parked vehicles out of the delivery path of the mail truck.

• The mailbox flag is to be raised to alert the mail carrier that you have outgoing mail.

• If you receive mail or packages that do not belong to you, please leave in the mailbox to be picked up the next delivery day.

• If there are loose dogs in your yard, do not expect your mail carrier to exit the mail truck to deliver packages or obtain signatures.

• If you need a new mailbox, please buy the largest one you can afford. Great Christmas gift!

Thank you for your help and consideration.

Sincerely,

Linda Buckbee
