‘Mickey, good luck in the days ahead’

The primaries are over. Thank you to everyone who participated. Since I did not want to influence the outcome, I waited until now to write this letter.
On the Florida Family Fun Fest Day, a village employee had a conversation with Councilman Marion (Mickey) Shuback in the Republican booth.
Mr. Shuback indicated that the remarks made to him amounted to age discrimination.
On behalf of the Village of Florida, I want to apologize to Mr. Shuback and state that one individual’s remarks are not a reflection of the Village of Florida.
As mayor I want to state that the Village of Florida will not condone or tolerate discrimination in any form.
Mickey, good luck in the days ahead.
James R. Pawliczek
Mayor, Village of Florida
