Letter to the Editor: Regarding No Kings 3 in Warwick

| 03 Apr 2026 | 01:17

The Indivisible Hudson Valley organizing team for No Kings 3 in Warwick thanks the huge crowd of people who showed up in the cold and wind to stand up for our Constitution and our rights and oppose the actions of the Trump administration. We were part of a groundswell of eight million Americans at more than 3,200 events nationwide.

We thank the police for their presence, assuring that everyone remained safe and peaceful. We are fortunate to have such professional law enforcement in our community. Our own trained safety monitors deserve special thanks. We also thank the mayor for discussing with us the extent of our rights and what he expected of us. And we thank the 30 local merchants we spoke with who understood that an event this large might attract more than the usual crowds, but is necessary in unusual times.

No Kings events nationwide alert people to dangers to our democracy, help them appreciate that they are not alone in their concern, and protect our communities from actions in D.C. that may seem far away. No Kings is supported by a coalition of more than 100 organizations including women’s, civil rights, environmental, and faith groups and unions.

Indivisible Hudson Valley participates in these events as a grassroots movement supporting voting, civil, and immigrant rights and the Constitution and rule of law. We support Individual National’s goals of nonviolent resistance, combatting disinformation, and mobilizing voters.

We also organize the Stand Up Saturdays on Main Street from 10-11:30 a.m. each Saturday. If you are concerned with the direction of our country, please come to one of our events if you can.
