Let’s make Warwick a bicycle/pedestrian friendly town
Imagine safe, wide bicycle/pedestrian paths gracefully paralleling the highways and byways of Warwick.
Imagine the freedom of being able to access and enjoy the beauty of our town, unencumbered by worries of distracted motorists.
Imagine weekend family bike outings to local destinations, level well maintained walkways with rest benches for all ages, exercise routes on which neighbors could casually meet and exchange a friendly word.
Warwickians live in the country, yet our ability to safely and spontaneously enjoy the greater outdoors without getting in the car to “go somewhere” is limited.
A network of cycling/pedestrian paths are entirely within our reach. Many towns throughout New York state have built beautiful, community enhancing trails by utilizing resources allotted specifically for these purposes.
Under the umbrella of Community 2000, a 501(c)(3), and its recent outreach TOGETHER: Building Tomorrow Today Visioning Project, a committee is now forming to carry out the identified goal of a bike/hike path that will link many of the scenic, shopping, schools and recreational parts of the town.
The first step is to gain community interest and support. A project of this scope requires a big team of motivated people working together to justify Warwick as a desirable, worthy recipient of available funds.
If you would like to be a part of this legacy project, a gift for today and to future generations please come to our first official meeting.
